Scalp Micropigmentation has become the number 1 alternative to expensive hair transplantations that oftentimes leave unnatural and sparse results on top of the head and ugly scarring on the back of the head. At byPRI, we pride ourselves on the ability to seamlessly replicate each hair follicle to create a perfectly natural hairline for every client.

What is S.M.P?
SMP, also known as ‘medical hairline tattooing’ or ‘follicular simulation’ is an immediate and permanent solution to hair loss with no invasive surgery, scarring or down time.
SMP is a process in which pigment impressions are deposited in the scalp to create the realistic appearance of hair follicles. It is undetectable creating the shaved or buzzed look naturally. For thinning hair in men and women, SMP provides the appearance of hair density and look of full bodied hair.
Reasons why you should do Scalp Micropigmentation
After completion of your treatment (3-4 sessions), you can expect the color to last for many years. Depending on a variety of factors including age, health, sun and water exposure, a color touchup session will restore any fading.
While hair transplants can cost at minimum of $20K, SMP is a small fraction that cost. Although each case may be different, you can always count on SMP to be easy on the budget.
Is this procedure painful?
Most clients report minimal pain (3 out of 10) during the procedure. SMP is less painful than traditional tattoos. There is no residual pain after the procedure.
Does this change color like a tattoo?
No. Scalp Micropigmentation is a form of permanent cosmetics, but unlike tattooing or permanent makeup, the pigment is designed to fall within the same color spectrum of short cut hair. The pigment contains no additional colorants or additives and will only lighten, not discolor over an extended time.
Does this work with grey hair?
Yes! Those with grey hair can still benefit from SMP. Most clients are recommended to cut their hair to a short, buzzed length. When this is done, grey hair does not appear as grey because the hair root itself is darker. We also adjust the pigment to blend with lighter hair tones.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Scalp Micropigmentation camouflage my transplant scar?
Yes! By replicating tiny hair follicles inside the scarring and blending the color around the scarring area, both transplant, surgical and previous injury scars can see massive improvement in concealment.
How do I choose a hairline?
byPRI uses unique, Fibonacci based mapping techniques to create the most natural and complimentary hairline for each client. Over the course of your sessions, the hairline can be tweaked to ensure optimal results and client satisfaction.
Do I need to take time off work?
Scalp Micropigmentation is non-surgical and requires no down time. After treatment, it is common to notice slight redness on the scalp for 12-24 hours post session. Most clients return to work the next day.
What equipment is used for the SMP procedure?
byPRI uses state of the art machines and disposable micro needles to delicately and precisely place the pigment to simulate hair follicles.
Can I leave my existing hair long?
Depending upon the pattern and extent of the thinning hair, some clients can maintain a longer length. If there is significant hair loss, the client is recommended to crop it shorter for the best results.
Can I wear a hat after my treatment?
Yes. The scalp may be a bit reddish for 12 – 24 hours post-session, so some clients elect to wear a hat after treatment to conceal the redness.
